Betty Jo (Bayer) Dossett, 80, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Hospice Maui. Betty was born in Evansville, Indiana on January 30, 1938 to the late Frank and Verona (Lamey) Bayer. She was a graduate of Mater Dei High School.

Betty retired from Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation after 21 years as a reading aid and daycare aid. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting afghans, and painting on craft fair items. Betty is survived by her daughters, Diane Crider (Jon) of Westfield, IN, Patty Bitter of Evansville, IN, and Karen Kulenkamp (Larry) of Wadesville, IN; sons, William Dossett Jr. (Polly), Alan Dossett both of Evansville, IN, and David Dossett (Michelle) of Newburgh, IN; sisters, Katherine Hirsch of Poseyville, IN, Helen Schenk of Evansville, IN, Dorothy Marshall of Fort Branch, IN, Bernice Huff, Dolores Tucker, Anna Ritzert all of Evansville, IN, and Roseann Barrow (William) of Chandler, IN; grandchildren, Christine Gudorf, Nick Crider, Tracy Wingo, Kyle Bitter, Jeff Dossett, Justin Crider, Westley Dossett, Greg Kulenkamp, Joshua Dossett, and Zachary Dossett; and 13 great-grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Dossett in 2008; her parents; sisters, Mary Widick and Rita Like; and brothers, Ed, Vince, Raymond, and Robert Bayer. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, November 19, 2018 at Zoar United Church of Christ, 4600 Church Rd.

, Evansville, IN 47720 with Rev. Art Christmas and Rev. John Heumann officiating.

Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Friends may visit from 12:00 Noon until 6:00 PM on Sunday, November 18, 2018 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 E. Diamond Ave. , Evansville, IN 47711 and again from 9:00 AM until service time on Monday at the church.
