Florence I. (Osborne) Sloat, age 93, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 2:45 a.m. on Monday, November 12, 2018, at Linda E. White Hospice House. Florence was born October 2, 1925, in Evansville, IN, to Marshall E. & Millie Pearl (Brown) Osborne. She attended Central High School.

She worked for Swift Company and Briggs Corp during WWII. Florence was a life time member of VFW Post #1114 Ladies Auxiliary and AARP. She is survived by her daughters, Linda Kay Sloat and Reverend Sharon Sue Sloat, both of Evansville, IN; her sister, Jeanette Whitcher, of Woodburn, IN; brothers-in-law, Jack Sloat, of Evansville, IN, John Sloat, of St. Petersburg, FL; cousins, nieces and nephews.

Florence is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 68 years, Earl H. Sloat, Jr., and her parents. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, November 15, 2018 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Mike Ballard officiating. Entombment will be in Park Lawn Mausoleum.

Friends may visit from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m., Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at BOONE FUNERAL HOME EAST CHAPEL. Memorial Contributions may be made to Vanderburgh Humane Society, 400 Millner Industrial Dr, Evansville, IN 47710. Arrangements are being handled by Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville, IN.
