Sandra “Sandi” M. Skinner May 19, 1941 – January 24, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Sandra M Skinner passed away on January 24, 2019 due to complications of COPD. Sandi was born on May 19, 1941 to Robert L and Mary C. Stewart. She was affectionately known as “MeMe” to her 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Sandra resided all her life in Kenosha, attending local schools and graduating from Kenosha High School in 1959. She married Ronald Covington and they had twin sons. This union dissolved and ten years later she married Elvis “Nick” Skinner and had one son.

This union also dissolved. Sandi worked for KUSD right after High School as a Secretary for McKinley Junior High School. She then went to HQ 5th Army Fort Sheridan 440 Tac Aircraft Wing (Air Force) Milwaukee as a Secretary and then to Kenosha Sheriff’s Department working as a Booking Clerk, retiring there after 15 years in 2001.

Being bored into 2 months of retirement, she went back to work as an Activities Director at what was Regent Manor and Canterbury Assisted Living Homes in Kenosha. She established the activity department for both. She enjoyed it so much she stayed for 12 years-finally retiring from there in 2013.

She was kind, loving and sweet. She loved getting together with all her family, enjoying every minute. She was proud to be “MeMe” to all her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons Todd Covington and Eric Skinner, her grandchildren Alicia (Jordan) Truax, Allison and Amya Covington, Ethan, Evan and James Skinner and her great grandchildren Ariana Ross and Canyon and Talon Truax. She was preceded in death by her parents Mary and Robert, her 2 ex-husbands Ron and Nick, her son Robert Frank, in infancy and recently by her adorable cat Nada. They had each other for 20 years.

Due to Sandi’s wishes she will be cremated and no memorials will be held. Services will be for family.
