Irene Helf October 09, 1917 – June 25, 2018 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Irene Helf, formerly of Kenosha, late of Burlington, passed away peacefully, Monday, June 25, 2018 at Bay at Burlington. She was born on October 9, 1917 to the late Domenick and Asuntina (Mazzei) Albofonte in Kenosha County. She was educated in the schools of Pleasant Prairie.

On November 16, 1946 she married John Helf Sr. in Kenosha. He preceded her in death on November 12, 1999. Irene worked for Jockey International for 40 years, retiring in 1980.

Irene was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. Irene enjoyed baking and Italian cooking. Irene is survived by her children John (Melba) Helf Jr. of Watkinsville, GA and Judith (Paul) Remus of Waterford, her four grandchildren Wendy, Ryan, Matthew and April and her 12 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by three brothers Louis, Anthony and Michael and her three sisters Vera Ford, Helen Odland and Dorothy Breen. A Mass of Christian Burial for Irene will be held on Friday, June 29th at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church (1919 – 54th St.). Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Friday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at the church. The family wishes to thank Compassionate Care Hospice and the nurses and CNA’s on Wing 5 at the Bay at Burlington for their love and care for Irene for more than 7 years.
