Obituary for Sandra “Sandy” Hart (Shaw) Sandra (Sandy) Shaw Hart, age 70, of Cleveland, Virginia, gained her angel wings on Friday (July 20, 2018) following a brief illness. Born March 28, 1948 in Harr, Tennessee, she was a daughter of the late Roby Lee and Pearl Taylor Shaw. A 1966 graduate of Chilhowie High School, she had resided in Chilhowie most of her life.
She moved to Cleveland, Virginia fourteen years ago and attended Nash’s Ford Baptist Church. She retired from the Smyth County Administrator’s Office in Marion, Virginia, after working thirty years as secretary. She enjoyed spending time with her husband, dancing, building a fire and having wiener roasts with her family and friends, but most of all she enjoyed going to church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Kenny Troxel; two brothers, Ed Casaday and Ronnie Shaw. Survivors include her husband, Ronnie Hart of the home; one daughter, Pam Troxel of Chilhowie, Virginia; three step-children, David Hart and Crystal Hart both of North Carolina and Anthony Hart of Lebanon, Virginia; two sisters, Donna Hamm and Wilma Rutherford and one brother, Bill Casaday; six grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one step-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM Monday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Bro.
David Miller officiating. Interment will follow in the Hart-Kendrick Cemetery at Cleveland, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Robbie Collins, Randy Hamm, Lonnie “Buck” Hart, Nolan Wayne Taylor, Dallas Taylor, Jeff Duty and Harvey Hart.
