Obituary for Ruby O’Quinn (Keen) Mrs. Ruby Keen O’Quinn, age 79, of the Big A Mountain section of Honaker, Virginia, got her angel wings on Tuesday morning (September 18, 2018) at her home, following a brief, yet courageous battle with cancer. Born February 3, 1939 in Clell, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Lazarus and Grace Hale Keen. A lifelong resident of the area, she was a 1958 graduate of Council High School and was a member of the Free Christian Church on Big A Mountain.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her precious husband of fifty-seven years, Billy Roger O’Quinn on March 3, 2018; three sisters, Dorothy Ball, Mammie Barrett and Mary Lambert; three brothers, Joe Keene, Harlis Keene and Eugene Keene. Survivors include two sons, Jeffrey O’Quinn and fiancee, Karen of Lebanon, Virginia and Darian O’Quinn of the home; a special grandchild by heart, Kylie Jo; three sisters, Lucy O’Quinn and husband, Glenn, Edda Mae Rasnake and husband, Eugene and Sue Ball; two sisters-in-law, Sue Keene, Fern Keene, and Gaye O’Quinn; several special nieces, nephews and a host of friends and loved ones also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM Thursday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev.
Edward Tiller and Rev. Roy Lee Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in the Ketron Memorial Gardens in Lebanon, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Billy Joe Keene, Mike O’Quinn, Scottie O’Quinn, Carl Wayne Sykes, Tim Hess, Greg O’Quinn, James Ball, and Earnest Ball. The family will receive friends after 5:30 PM Wednesday at the Honaker Funeral Home where an evening song service will be conducted at 7 PM. Online condolences may be made at www.
