Obituary for Dallas McGlothlin Mr. Dallas Burk McGlothlin, age 87, of Honaker, Virginia passed away Sunday (October 28, 2018) in a Lebanon, Virginia hospital. Born August 6, 1931 in Buchanan County, Virginia, he was a son of the late William Andrew and Lena Pearl Honaker McGlothlin. A lifelong resident of the area, he was a member of the Fletcher’s Ridge Primitive Baptist Church.
He was a retired coal miner and enjoyed hunting, fishing and listening to Gospel Bluegrass music. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-nine years, Elizabeth Harris McGlothlin; one son, Roger Baldwin and four brothers, Hyder King McGlothlin, Fred McGlothlin, Hadley McGlothlin and Wayne McGlothlin; two sisters, Joyce McGlothlin and Vinnie McGlothlin. Survivors include one son, Carter McGlothlin of Lebanon, Virginia; two grandchildren, Adam McGlothlin and Deanna McGlothlin; great-grandchildren, Aubree McGlothlin, Braydon Daugherty and Andrew McGlothlin; three brothers, Rean McGlothlin and wife, Faye, Carlis McGlothlin, Memp McGlothlin and wife, Judy; two sisters, Martha Ball and Dolly Compton and husband, Eugene; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM Tuesday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Barrett McGlothlin, Elder Jim O’Quinn, Elder Jim Duty and Elder Don Stacy officiating. Interment will follow in the Ketron Memorial Gardens in Lebanon, Virginia. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
