Obituary for Carles William Stinson Mr. Carles William Stinson, age 74, of Honaker, Virginia, passed away Wednesday (November 21, 2018) at a Lebanon, Virginia hospital. Born February 17, 1944 in Richlands, Virginia, he was a son of the late Jessie William and Ella Mae Smith Stinson. A lifelong resident of the area, he was a 1964 graduate of Honaker High School and attended Mt.
Zion Freewill Baptist Church on Big A Mountain. He was employed at Coastal Mart for over thirty-five years, having served as manager for twenty-seven years. In his spare time, he enjoyed farming and gardening.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Lawrence Edward Stinson. Survivors include his wife of fifty-three years and eleven months, Ruth Jeanette Dye Stinson; two sons, Calvin Lee Stinson and wife, Melissa and Jeffery W. Stinson both of Honaker, Virginia; two granddaughters, Kenetta Willis and husband, Evan and Aleshia Eaton and husband, Jonathan; one great-grandson, whom he referred to as his “Little Buddy”, Cason Willis; three sisters-in-law, Shirley Hubbard, Mary Sue Perkins and Betty Robinette; special brother-in-law, Hurley Dye and wife, Darlene; special friend, Jerry Perkins. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM Saturday with Rev.
Virgil Musick and Rev. James Sims officiating. Interment will follow in the Ketron Memorial Gardens at Lebanon, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Yates, Glenn Stinson, Jerry Stinson, Jonathan Eaton, Evan Willis and Alfred Wicks. Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Musick and Jonathan Dye. The family will receive friends after 6 PM Friday at the Honaker Funeral Home, where an evening song service will be conducted at 7 PM.
