Obituary for Jeffrey McGlothlin Mr. Jeffrey Calvin McGlothlin, age 23, of Honaker, Virginia, passed away Sunday (September 23, 2018) from injuries sustained in an ATV accident. Born September 30, 1994 in Honaker, he was a son of Burl and Donna Dye McGlothlin of Honaker. A lifelong resident of the area, he was a 2012 graduate of Honaker High School and had attended Southwest Virginia Community College, receiving a Certificate of Health Sciences and an Associates’ Degree in Nursing in 2017.
Having a deep care for the well-being of others, he was a member of Honaker Volunteer Fire Department, Russell County Search and Rescue, and was currently employed as a Registered Nurse with Preferred Home Health. He was a member of The Worship Center in Swords Creek, Virginia and was a youth leader with Embrace Youth Group. He had a love for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and ATV riding, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Wayne and Martha McGlothlin. In addition to his parents, survivors include his sister, Kristy Vandyke and husband, Cody of Swords Creek; one niece, Rylee Vandyke; one nephew, Thomas Vandyke; maternal grandfather, Charlie Dye and friend, Sharon Hodge; maternal grandmother, Dorothy Dye; special friend, Caleb Cook; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev.
Chester Ball and Rev. R.J. Whited officiating. Interment will follow in Ketron Memorial Gardens at Lebanon, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be the Members of Honaker Volunteer Fire Department. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Lewis and the Men of the Worship Center. The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home after 5:00 PM Wednesday.
