Obituary for Vina Zaid (Price) Vina Delpha Zaid, age 86, of Lebanon, Virginia, passed away Sunday (July 8, 2018) at her home. Born September 17, 1931 in Honaker, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Barnett Joshua and Martha Miller Price. She had spent her early life in the Honaker area and was a 1949 graduate of Honaker High School.
A graduate of New York University, she had received a Masters Degree in both Art and Education, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and Accounting. She had lived in New York for over forty years and had been employed in the New York Public School System, teaching second and fourth grades. She was very active in her civic duties and was a talented artist.
She was a member of Cedar Point Baptist Church in Lebanon, Virginia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Jency Yall, one brother, Lawrence Elward Price, and one nephew, Dwight Joshua Price. Survivors include two sisters, Rosemary Belcher of Honaker and Nelda Ruth Hayden of Bluff City, Tennessee; nieces and nephews, Larry W. Belcher, Laura Faye Woodyard, Barry Clifton Belcher, Sharon Cardwell, Martha Hubbard, and Frankl Stigall, II.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Pastor James Nunley officiating. Interment will follow in the Fletcher Cemetery at Finney, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Frank Stigall, Larry Belcher, Barry Belcher, Shane Hughes, R.C. Sauls, and Joe Hughes.
Honorary pallbearers will be Larry G. Miller, Kenny Owens, Russell Griffith, Martin Griffith, and Hal Cardwell. The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Tuesday. Online condolences may be made at www.
