Scott Allen DeMers was born on January 30, 1970 to Duane and Sandy (Blase) DeMers in Aurora. Scott grew up in the Hordville area, and graduated from Polk-Hordville High School in 1988. After graduation, Scott would get a job at Hamilton Telecommunications in Aurora.

While working there he met Tammi Peters, and on September 5, 1992 they were united in marriage at the Bethesda Mennonite Church in Henderson. To this union they would have 4 children, Jared, Payton, Andrew, and Caleb. While they were married, Scott and Tammi started a Christian band called “Proclamation”.

His love of music would lead him all over the Midwest, proclaiming their love of Christ through their music. He was a talented musician, playing guitar, singing and writing the songs they would perform. Scott then began working for Friesen Construction from 1992 until 1998.

He then worked for Blue Beacon Trucking in York, and at the York Ethanol Plant until 2006. In 2006 Scott and Tammi moved to Kansas City where they were music missionaries, continuing to spread the gospel to others, until returning to York in 2007. In 2009 Scott moved to Grand Island and began working various jobs, and would then be united in marriage to Kim Arnold, where he would gain a stepson, Tylen.

Scott was an avid Nebraska Cornhusker football fan. Spreading the gospel through his music was a large part of his life, as well as helping out others in their time of need. His faith carried him through many hard times.

He attended the Bethesda Mennonite Church in Henderson, New Heights Assembly Church in York, Abundant Life Christian Church, as well as the Mission Church in Omaha. Throughout his life Scott attended many bible study groups, but especially enjoyed his groups that he attended while living in Grand Island and Omaha.
