Shirley Ann Swan, 92, of Burlington, died at 9:25 AM Sunday, March 10, 2019 at the Great River Hospice House. Born August 23, 1926, in Yarmouth, she was the daughter of Walter and Elda Latta Weinrich. On December 29, 1972, she married Noel Edmund Swan in Oquawka, IL; he passed August 27, 2005.

Shirley worked for IAAP. She graduated from Yarmouth High School. Shirley’s family was her pride and joy.

She also loved to visit with friends. Survivors include two sons, Dennis Wilson of Burlington, and Jeff (Terri) Huddleston of Burlington; three daughters, Connie (Roger) Ammon of Burlington, RoseAnn Sturms of Kahoka, MO, and Marcia (Bruce) Ford of Fort Collins, CO; 26 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; step-daughter, Marcia (Ron) Glasgow of Burlington; sister, Rosemary (Ken) Thiele of Lake Arrowhead, CA; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her parents and two daughters, Debbie and Billie.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh~Thielen Crematory. A Celebration of Life for Shirley will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Friday, June 14, 2019, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Elmwood Cemetery in Morning Sun.

A time of food and fellowship will be held at the Morning Sun Community Center following the burial. A memorial has been established for the Great River Hospice House.
