Shirley Mae Bauman, 67, of Appleton, passed away peacefully at home Sunday, October 7, 2018 after her second battle of Pancreatic Cancer. She was born on December 31, 1950. Shirley was the 6th of 8 children to the parents of Elizabeth (Dunsirn) and Martin Salm.

She married her best friend, Gerald, on August 10, 1968 and created a family of four children. Shirley enjoyed fishing, weekly bingo days with her sisters, cruises with family, Sundays at the Casinos, staying active, cleaning inside, (the house was always spotless), outside yard work, shopping with her grandchildren, organizing family holidays and activities, cooking amazing meals, reading, farmers markets and spending time with family and friends. She also loved the smell of lilacs.

One of Shirley’s greatest joys was watching her family grow and enjoy life. Shirley is survived by her husband, Gerald, four children, Holly (Nathan) Wilz and their children Nancy, Tracy, Ashley, Menasha; Larry Bauman and his children Brittany, Taylor, Peyton, Jordyn, Greenville; Cheri (Roy) Jacobsen and their children Aly, Baily, Matty, Navarino; Ron Bauman and his children Savanna, Devon, Violet, Mason, Grand Chute; 4 great grand children, Everly, Navaley, Lillian, Bow; Sisters, Marie (Ron) Nelson, Pat (DuWayne) Osterling, Wendy (Henry) VanStippen; Brothers, John (Joanne) Salm, and Jack Salm. She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Nancy Stubert and Margie Salm.

Funeral Service for Shirley will be 11:00AM on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at ST. EDWARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, N2926 State Hwy 47, Appleton with Fr. Walter Stumpf officiating.

Visitation will be held at the church Thursday morning beginning at 9:00AM until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers and other expressions of sympathy a memorial fund will be established.
