Shirley Marie Armstrong Mims Bon Air, AL – Funeral service for Shirley Marie Armstrong Mims, 79, will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at First Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Heath Webb officiating. She will lie in state one hour prior to service time.

Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery in Childersburg, AL. Mrs. Mims passed away on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at her residence, surrounded by her loved ones. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 40 years, James Charles Mims; parents, A.N. and Ressie Armstrong; brother, G.W. Armstrong; and her granddaughter, Robin Leigh Mims.

She was known for her love of traveling. She also loved her church and especially her Sunday School Class. She is survived by four sons, Jamie (Cindy) Mims of Lounce, TN, Jackie (Tammy) Mims of Alpine, David (Donna) Mims of Childersburg, and Stephen (Sonia) Mims of Sylacauga; two daughters, Laura (Steve) Sims of Bon Air and Cathy (Gerry) Peoples of Childersburg; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; sister, Linda (Sam) Holmes of California; and her two brothers, Lonzo (Pat) Armstrong of Sylacauga and Raymond (Shirley) Armstrong of Sylacauga.

Visitation will be Monday, October 22, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Jamie Mims, Jackie Mims, David Mims, Stephen Mims, Steve Sims, and Gerry Peoples. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
