Obituary for Shirley Stanley Shirley (Dubbles) Stanley, 86, of Independence, MO, passed away on Monday, December 10, 2018 at St. Mary’s Manor. Visitation will be held from 10-11am Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Speaks Family Legacy Chapels on 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO. Graveside service will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Carrollton, MO.

Shirley was born November 11, 1932 in Wellington, MO. She attended Wellington High School before meeting and marrying Melvin Stanley. The couple relocated to the east coast, where Melvin was stationed in the military.

The couple eventually made it back to Independence. After retirement from Reese & Nicols Realty, Shirley enjoyed a quiet life; being a member of the Lee’s Summit Eastern Star Chapter and being a “huge Chiefs Fan”. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin in 2015; and her foster parents, Oliver and Marie Perrine.

She is survived by a foster brother, Jimmy (Virginia) Perrine; brother-in-law, Larry Stanley; sister-in-laws, Joan Kinnaman and Judy Ravenscroft.
