Obituary of Shirley Kilgour Shirley A. Kilgour, 86, a lifelong Red Hook resident, passed away on Thursday, January 10th, 2019 at The Thompson House in Rhinebeck, NY. Born on February 18, 1932, in Rhinebeck, NY, she was the daughter of the late Clifford and Mildred (Brenzel) Doyle. She was a graduate of Red Hook High School- Class of 1949 and was an active member of the Red Hook Alumni Association.

Shirley also graduated from the Wilfred Academy of Beauty Culture in New York City in April of 1950. Shirley married James D. Kilgour Jr. on February 7th, 1953 in Texas, and he predeceased her on November 15, 2016. Shirley was also a longstanding member of St. John’s Reformed Church in Upper Red Hook, NY.

She is survived by her loving children; Shari (Brian) Juranic of Milan, NY, Dana (Teresa McGuirk) Kilgour of Clinton Corners, NY, Daren (Susan) Kilgour of Rhinebeck, and James D. Kilgour, III of Niverville, NY; a brother Denis (Judy) Doyle of Red Hook, NY; her grandchildren, Christy Juranic, Elyse (Eric) Haile, Marisa (Francisco) Reyes, Daren (Holly) Kilgour, and Jessalyn Kilgour; her great grandchildren, Magdalene Haile, and Marina, Marisol, Alex, & Tony Reyes; along with extended family and friends. Friends may call at the Burnett & White Funeral Homes on Monday, January 14, 2019 from 10 am to 12 pm. Then we will proceed to St. John’s Reformed Church, 126 Old Post Rd.

North, Red Hook, NY for a 12:30 pm funeral service. Rev. Eric Titus will officiate.

Burial will follow at St. John’s Reformed Church Cemetery, Red Hook. Memorial donations may be made in Shirley’s memory to the St. John’s Reformed Church, 126 Old Post Rd, North, Red Hook, NY 12571. Arrangements are under the direction of Burnett & White Funeral Homes 7461 S. Broadway, Red Hook, NY.
