Obituary for Sondra Gilbert (Swedt) Sondra A. Gilbert, 68, wife of John E. “Jack” Gilbert, of Manchester passed away Sunday, June 3, 2018 at home. She was born in Hartford, December 14, 1949, daughter of the late Peter and Genevieve Swedt. Sondra was a wonderful crafter and artist, who loved sewing, which included making her own curtains, costumes and many other household items.

She also would cook wonderful meals and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In addition to her husband, Sondra will be remembered by her loving children, Robert L. Finan of FL. , John M. Gilbert of ME, Edward M. Gilbert of Manchester and Monique C. Gilbert of NJ; her grandchildren, Ryan, Shanna, Maximus, Cyrus, Brooklyn, Olivia and Hannah; and her great-granddaughter Isabella.

She also leaves her cherished aunt, Nancy Miller; her cousins, Nedra, Cheryl and Edward; as well as her nieces Jamie and Jean Swedt. Along with her parents, Sondra was predeceased by her brother Derrick Swedt. Friends may call on the family Thursday, June 7, 2018 from 4-7 pm at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd.

, Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Sondra’s life will be held Friday, June 8th at 11:00 am in St. James Church, 896 Main St., Manchester, CT 06040. Attendees are asked to go directly to church.
