Stanley Ray Hunter, age 59, of Royal, passed away on Tuesday, February 12, 2019. He was born on October 28, 1959 in Nashville, Tennessee, the son of John Carmack Hunter, Jr. and Christine Hall Hunter. On August 11, 1993, he was married to Jeri Smiley.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Lonnie Hunter. He worked as a tree trimmer and volunteered around the neighborhood. Whenever a neighbor needed help with a project, Stanley was always there to lend a hand.

He loved living on the lake and fishing. His real joy was playing with his granddaughter, Reese. He is survived by his wife, Jeri Smiley Hunter of Royal; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Daniel Fields of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Chelsea Fields of Hot Springs, and Jason Hunter of Laverne, Tennessee; his granddaughter, Reese Fields of Hot Springs; two brothers, Randy Hunter of White House, Tennessee and Roger Hunter of Goodlettville, Tennessee; and three sisters, Vickie Keith of White House Tennessee, Shirley Oldham of Mount Juliet, Tennessee and Della Pierce of Harriman, Tennessee.

Services will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, February 16, 2019, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs, with USAF Chaplain Lt. Col. John Goodman, Ret.

officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday, 2:00 PM until service time, at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, February 19, 2019, in the Old Brush Cemetery, Portland, Tennessee.
