Stephen R. “Steve” Laskey, 59 of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Tuesday afternoon, November 13, 2018, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by the love of his family, after fighting a courageous battle with Lou Gehrig’s Disease (ALS) . He was born September 24, 1959, in Connellsville, the son of Robert Louis Laskey, Sr and Kay Laskey of Connellsville.

Steve was a member of St. Pius X R.C. Church, Mt. Pleasant. He was a graduate of Southmoreland High School Class of 1978 and was self employed as Owner of Steve’s Restaurant Appliance, Mt.

Braddock, for over 30 years. He enjoyed his trips to Lady Luck Casino, Nemacolin Woodlands, where he was very much respected and known . Outside of his love of family, Steve had a passion for fishing, hunting and golfing.

Steve was full of life and always had a new joke for his family and friends. Steve was a loving and devoted Husband, Father, Brother, Son, Uncle and Cousin to his family and a friend to many. He is gone from our lives, but will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, His parents, Robert L. and Kay Kessler Laskey, of Connellaville His loving and devoted wife, of 21 years, Natalie Romanik Laskey, whom he married, August 23, 1997.

His Three Loving Children: Shelby R. Gindlesperger and husband Josh of Greensburg Stephen Q. Laskey And Melina K. Laskey, both at home His Siblings: Mark Laskey and wife Millie of N.J. Lori Laskey of Pittsburgh Karen Pritchard and husband Lee of North Carolina Robert L. Laskey, Jr. and wife Patti Ann of Dawson Jeff Laskey of Scottdale His Mother-In-Law: Marcia Romanik of Derry His Sister-In-Law: Jeannine Filby and husband Jean-Jacque “Jim” of Normandy, France His cherished pets Maisie, Carly, Monkey, Nugget, Bazinga and his Daughter Melina’s pet horse, Blondie Also surviving are a number of Aunts and Uncles, Nieces and Nephews, Cousins and numerous Friends He was preceded in death by: Father-In-Law: Gary J. Romanik (April 8, 1999) Maternal Grandmother: Marie Brothers Paternal Grandparents: Stephen and Nellie Laskey Steve’s family cordially invites family and friends to the Frank Kapr Funeral Home, Inc. 417 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale, Friday from Noon – 8PM. Additional viewing will be held Saturday from 9:30AM until 11AM, at which time his Funeral Liturgy will begin in the Funeral Home. Chapel Services and Interment will be held in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville.
