Stephen R. Probert, 60 of Perth Amboy, passed away on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy. Stephen was a lifelong resident of Perth Amboy. He was an alumnus of Perth Amboy High School, Class of 1975.

He was the Owner/Operator of SES Home Improvements, and prior to that was a butcher for Custom Meats, ShopRite and Foodtown. He was a Fourth Degree and a Past Grand Knight of St. Cecilia’s Knights of Columbus Council # 3639, Past President of Perth Amboy Lions Club, Past President of MAVIS, a member of the Proprietary House Restoration Committee, active in Church Choir, and helped restore the Prayer Room in Our Lady of Hungary. Stephen enjoyed donating his spare time helping at the Church.

He is survived by his devoted wife Monica B. (nee Colombo); cherished mother Frances (nee Mikolajczak) Rice; beloved daughters Emily Ann and her husband Trevor Pachucki, Sarah and her husband Ray Pia and Stephanie Probert and her fiancée Matthew Meola; dear sisters Jenny and her husband Thomas Whalen, Becky and her husband Manuel Rivera; adored grandchildren Scarlette, Maxwell and Miles; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. We will leave on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at 9:15 am from the Gustav J. Novak Funeral Home, 419 Barclay Street, Perth Amboy for a funeral mass at 10 am at Most Holy Name of Jesus Parish at Our Lady of Hungary Church. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Parlin.

Visiting is on Wednesday 2 ~ 4 & 7 ~ 9 pm.
