Martin Joseph Sheehan Age: 88 Lakeland, Florida Martin Joseph Sheehan, 88 of Lakeland, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, Lakeland, Florida with his family by his side. Joe was born in Orange, New Jersey and lived in Newark then to Fords and then Lakeland Florida 15 years ago. He served his country during the Korean War in the United States Army and achieved the rank of Sergeant.

He is an Alumnus of NJIT where he received his Bachelors Degree in Engineering. He was employed by CE Lummus, Bloomfield for over 35 years as a Civil Engineer. He retired many years ago.

Joe was Past Post Commander of the American Legion, Post 471, Iselin. He is preceded in death by his loving parents Martin and Winifred ( nee Fitzpatrick ); dear brother of James Sheehan and Winifred Flynn. He is survived by Joan Sheehan ( nee Finnerty ); his devoted children Joseph, Edward and his wife Lorraine, John Sheehan, Mary and her husband Vinny Makfinsky, Thomas Sheehan, Kathleen and her husband Anthony Calabrese, Daniel and his wife Colleen Sheehan and Maureen and her husband Joseph Andrascik; beloved brother of Mary Sheehan; adored grandfather of 10; cherished uncle of many nieces, nephews.

We begin to leave on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at 9:45 am from the Gustav J. Novak Funeral Home, 419 Barclay Street, Perth Amboy for a funeral Mass at 10:30 am at St. James Church, Woodbridge. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Piscataway. Visiting is on Monday from 5 ~ 9 pm.
