Ira James Drayton, 73 of Perth Amboy, passed away on Monday, July 2, 2018 at his residence with his family by his side. Ira was born in Charlotte, North Carolina and came to Perth Amboy many years ago. He was employed by various manufacturing companies throughout the Middle County area as a laborer.

Ira loved spending time with family and friends and he was an avid golfer. He is preceeded in death by his loving mother Isabell ( nee Redhead ). He is survived by his devoted children Michael J. and his wife Elizabeth “Liz” and his daughter Lourdes Ann Drayton; dear brother of Les and Elizabeth Pat Roberts, Reginald “Reggie” Redhead; adored grandfather of 6 and was blessed by a great~grandson; cherished uncle of many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at 12 pm at the Gustav J. Novak Funeral Home, 419 Barclay Street, Perth Amboy. Interment will follow at Alpine Cemetery.
