Gary N. Hermann, 77 of Brick formally of Perth Amboy, passed away Thursday, July 5, 2018 in Brick with his devoted wife Dolores by his side. Gary was a lifelong resident of Perth Amboy. He was an graduate of Perth Amboy High School where he excelled in math and baseball.

He was an avid Dodgers fan and enjoyed crabbing with his grandchildren. He was the owner / operator of the Hy Travern ( Shankies ) for nearly 50 years. He retired in 2010.

He will be remembered for his quiet and kind ways and a strong family commitment. He is preceded in death by his daughter Dana Hermann and his parents Peter Sr. and Ethel Hermann. He is survived by his devoted wife Dolores ( nee Barrett ) Hermann; beloved father of Sharon, Shirley, Lori, Johnny, Victor, Marie, Donna and Russell; brother of Peter Jr.; adored grandfather of Daniel, Ashley, Tommy and Chelsea and great ~ grandfather of Daniel Jr. and William; cherished uncle of many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Liturgy will be held on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at 11 am at the St. Martha’s RC Church, 3800 Herbertsville Road, Point Pleasant, NJ 08742. A Private burial will be held. Visiting is on Monday, July 9, 2018 at the Gustav J. Novak Funeral Home, 419 Barclay Street, Perth Amboy from 5 ~ 9 pm.
