Ricardo “Ricky” Eduardo Valenzuela Herrera, 76 of Perth Amboy, passed away on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at JFK Medical Center, Edison with his family by his side. Ricky was born and raised in Lima, Peru where he was a Journalist at Diario Correo, Lima, Peru for 22 years. He came to Perth Amboy 32 years ago.

He then was employed by JFK Medical Center, Edison in the Maintenance Department for 12 years. He is preceeded in death by his loving parents Juan Pablo Valenzuela and Maria Eugenia Herrera; dear brother of Marina and Victor Valenzuela Herrera. Ricky is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years Augusta Briceno Valenzuela; beloved father of Freddy and his wife Frezia Valenzuela, Maria Alina and her husband Oscar Pezantes, Norma and her husband Miguel Flores and Maria and her husband Ivan Lopez; dear brother of Luis “Lucho” and Manuel “Manuco” Valenzuela Herrera; adored grandfather of Tania and her husband Enzo Virto, Aileen and her husband David Marmolejos, Anthony Gonzalez, Fred Valenzuela, Leslie Pezantes, Priscilla Valenzuela, Shirley Pezantes, Andrea Lopez, Sienna and Brianna Lopez; great ~ grandfather of Enzo Jr. and Aiden Virto; cherished uncle of many nieces , nephews and cousins.

We begin to leave on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at 9:15 am from the Gustav J. Novak Funeral Home, 419 Barclay Street, Perth Amboy for a funeral mass at 10 am at the Saint John Paul II Parish at St. Stephen’s Church. Interment will follow at Alpine Cemetery. Visiting is on Monday from 4 ~ 8 pm.
