Obituary for Steve Faughn Steve Faughn, 72, of Vienna passed away at 8:09 a.m.,Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at his residence. Steve was born September 21, 1945 in Herrin. He was raised by his beloved grandparents, Perry “Bocky” and Vivian Austin.
He married his best friend and soul mate, Mary Lee Sullins on January 16, 1990 in Pope County. Together they have shared 28 years of marriage. Steve was retired, having been a coal miner with Freeman #4 and Ziegler #4 coal mines for many years.
He served with Illinois National Guard after graduating from Herrin High School in 1963. He loved to hunt and hike the hills of Pope County with grandfather. He built a cabin that he made into a home where he lived in for a number of years.
Steve also loved to ride motorcycles and had a love for cars. He also enjoyed body building and working out. Steve is survived by his wife, Mary Lee Faughn; aunt, Lela Mae McKinney, cousins, Harry (Cindy) McKinney, Jeff McKinney, Melissa McKinney and her children, Keanna, Chelsey and Kennon, Harry McKinney, Jr. and his son Brayden, Amber (Brian) Holmes and their children, Ethan, Evan and Megan; loving friends, Tahnee and Mario Duarte and daughter.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents. Celebration of life services will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Pyle Funeral Home in Johnston City with Rev. Richard Sullins officiating.
