Obituary for Edward Lambert McNichols Edward Lambert McNichols, 89, of Energy and formerly of Carbondale passed away at 4:05 a.m., Friday, October 26, 2018 in Helia Health Care in Energy. Edward was born April 22, 1929 in St. Joseph, Missouri to John Edward and Barbara (Lambert) McNichols. Edward was retired having been an English professor at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale for 33 years.

He also served his country honorably with the United States Army. He was of the Christian faith. Edward is survived by four children, Karen McNichols, Tim McNichols, Jason McNichols and Kristin McNichols; two grandchildren, John (Angie) Palmer and Echo McNichols; two great-grandchildren, Emma and Tim Palmer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Jacqueline McNichols; two children, Bethanne McNichols and Mike McNichols. In honor of his wishes, he will be cremated. Private family services will be held at later date.

Pyle Funeral Home in Johnston City is entrusted with the arrangements.
