Obituary of Steven Coon Steven A. Coon, 59, of Red Hook, NY, passed away on Saturday, July 7th, 2018 at his home. Born on October 13, 1958, in Plattsburgh, NY, he was the son of the late Arnold E. and Betty Lou (Rhynders) Coon. Steven was a graduate of Red Hook High School.

Steven married Candy Artist on September 12, 1992 in Milan, NY and she survives him at home. For nearly 40 years, Steven worked in the warehouse and as a forklift operator for McCollisters Transportation Group based in Poughkeepsie, NY. Over the past year, he worked at Lowe’s in Kingston, NY.

A devoted member of the Milan Fire Company, Steven served in the fire company for over 43 years and served as Chief for many of those years. In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his son, Christian (Jennifer) of Kingston, NY; his grandchildren, Olivia, Ariana, and Joseph, a great granddaughter Isabella ; his sister, April (Edward) Pulver of Red Hook, NY; his brother, Ricky (Annette) Coon of Milan, NY; his uncle, Ronald Rhynders, Sr. of Red Hook, NY; his aunt, Diane (George) Cole of Tennessee; his brothers in law, Clifford (Tammy) Artist of Tilson, NY, and Craig (Samantha) Artist of Tivoli, NY; along with 12 nieces and nephews, countless extended family, colleagues and friends An uncle, Dick Rhynders predeceased him. Friends may call at the Burnett & White Funeral Homes on Tuesday, July 10th, 2018 from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 PM.

The Milan Fire Company will conduct services at 7:30 pm. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at Burnett & White Funeral Homes, Red Hook, NY. Reverend Fred C. Cartier will officiate.

Burial will be at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Red Hook. Memorial donations may be made in Steven’s memory to the Milan Rescue Squad, 250 Williams Road, Milan, NY 12571. Arrangements are under the direction of Burnett & White Funeral Homes 7461 S. Broadway, Red Hook, NY.
