Obituary of Blanche Worrell Blanche “Lambie” Storrs Worrell, 100 years young, a longtime Red Hook resident, passed away on Monday, October 15, 2018 at The Pines in Poughkeepsie, NY. Born on August 16, 1918, in Portsmouth, VA, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Edward and Ella (Folk) Boone. Six siblings, her first husband, Alvin Storrs, and second husband, Charles Worrell, Jr., predeceased Blanche.

Blanche worked for many years as a Supervisor at the New York Telephone Company based in Manhattan, NY and was a member of the New York Telephone Pioneers. Active in her faith, Blanche was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Rhinebeck where she sang in the choir and regularly attended Wednesday evening bible study classes. Known for her sincerity and friendliness, she was as comfortable with making and enjoying new acquaintances as socializing with old friends.

She enjoyed learning, helping and entertaining. In earlier years, she was an avid gardener and later in life became a dedicated class instructor of an exercise class for seniors. A sister, Ellen Bernice Faircloth of Portsmouth, VA; nephews Leslie (Theresa) Williams of Upper Marlboro, MD Roderick (Saundra) Wilson of Freeport, NY; Edward “Tommy”(Brenda) Boone of Largo, Maryland, Randolph Faircloth, Jr. of Portsmouth, VA, Ronald (Cathy) Boone of Rockville Centre, NY, nieces Denice (Tyrone) Wisher of Suffolk, VA, Beryl Faircloth of Portsmouth, VA, Annette (Myron)Forrest of Portsmouth, VA, Sonya Faircloth of Richmond, VA, Vashty Delgado of CA , along with several other grand nieces, nephews, extended family and close friends, survive her.

Friends may call at the Burnett & White Funeral Homes on Thursday, October 25th, 2018 from 4 to 7 pm. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Friday, October 26, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Rhinebeck, Rhinebeck, NY. Pastor Daniel Drake will officiate.

Burial will be at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Red Hook. Memorial donations may be made in Blanche’s memory to the First Baptist Church of Rhinebeck, Astor Dr., Rhinebeck, NY 12572. Arrangements are under the direction of Burnett & White Funeral Homes 7461 S. Broadway, Red Hook, NY.
