Obituary of Shari Race Shari A. Race, 56, a longtime resident of Tivoli, passed away on Wednesday, January 23rd, 2019 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY. Born on October 27th, 1962, in Poughkeepsie, NY, she was the daughter of the late Melvin and Margaret (Gallagher) Jones. Shari married Robert Race on December 30, 1982 in St. John’s Reformed Church of Red Hook.

Robert predeceased her on December 2, 2016. For many years, Shari worked in the food services at both Rhinebeck and Red Hook schools. She also worked with the special needs students at Red Hook schools and was a clerk at Stewarts and the Mobile Mart in Red Hook.

She is survived by her sons, Timothy Race of Tivoli, NY, Kevin Race of Germantown, NY, and Robert Race, Jr of Tivoli, NY; a sister, Wendy Schloemer; along with extended family and friends. In addition to her husband, her daughter, Amy Race predeceased her. Friends may call at the Burnett & White Funeral Homes on Thursday, January 31, 2019 from 4 to 7 pm.

Arrangements are under the direction of Burnett & White Funeral Homes 7461 S. Broadway, Red Hook, NY.
