Obituary of Amos Lemmermann Amos W. Lemmermann, 92, of Taghkanic, NY, passed away on Friday, January 18, 2019 at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson, NY. Born on August 26th, 1926, in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Amos L. and Florence M. (Baldwin) Lemmermann. Amos married Patricia A. McAuliffe and she survives at home.

Amos worked as a Photo Engraver with Pioneer Moss based in New York City. Active in his communities, he was a 65-year Mason and longtime member of Hendrick Hudson Lodge #875 Free & Accepted Masons in Red Hook, NY. He was a member of the Federation of Polish Sportsman in Hudson, NY, was a past officer and 20 year member of Columbia County Sportsmen’s Association, and a combined 65-year volunteer fireman; 50 years in Hempstead, NY and 15 years in Taghkanic, NY.

Amos also volunteered at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson, NY . He is survived by his wife Patricia A. Lemmermann of Taghkanic, NY; his children, Amos C. Lemmermann, Richard (Harriet) Lemmermann, and John Lemmermann; a sister, Lorraine Vensk; his step children, Harold VanCura, Nancy VanCura, John VanCura, Jane VanCura, and James VanCura; seven grandchildren; 11 step grandchildren; extended family and friends. His first wife, Doris Ziegenfuss, predeceased him.

Friends may call at the Burnett & White Funeral Homes on Friday, January 25th, 2019 from 4 to 6 pm. Hendrick Hudson Lodge will conduct services at 6 pm, and formal funeral service will follow. Pastor James Miller of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Red Hook will officiate.

Interment will be in the spring at West Taconic Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in Amos’s memory to the Hendrick Hudson Lodge #875 Free & Accepted Masons, 9 Graves St, Red Hook, NY 12571. Arrangements are under the direction of Burnett & White Funeral Homes 7461 S. Broadway, Red Hook, NY.
