Obituary of Audrey Cole Audrey H. Cole, 87, a longtime Red Hook/Milan area resident, passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2019 in Florida at the home of her daughter, Terry (Cole) Fitte, and son-in-law, Frederick Fitte, where she resided for the past two years. Born on January 24, 1931, in Poughkeepsie, NY, she was the daughter of the late Albert B. and Elnora W. (Smith) Cole. Audrey married Robert G. Cole on October 16, 1955 at Grace Episcopal Church in Millbrook, NY.

Robert predeceased her on April 13, 2016. Following high school, Audrey attended Russell Sage College in Troy, NY and studied social sciences. She eventually left school to work on her family farm.

In addition to raising her family, she returned to her education and earned her bachelor’s degree in Sociology, with a minor in History from Bard College, Annandale-on-Hudson, NY in 1988. Audrey was a longtime faithful member of Christ Church in Red Hook. Audrey sang for many years in the Church Choir, was a past member of the Women’s Group and devoted many hours at Christ Church’s Thrift Shop, something she greatly enjoyed.

She is survived by her loving children & their spouses; Terry (Fred) Cole Fitte of Mount Dora, FL, Scot (Annette) G. Cole of Clover, SC, R. Daniel (Carol) Cole of Hudson, NY, and Rachel (Robert Shook) Cole of Hillsdale, NY; eight grandchildren, eight great- grandchildren; along with extended family and friends. A sister, Katherine Rannenberg, and two brothers, Albert B. Cole, Jr. and George Cole, predecease her. Friends may call at the Burnett & White Funeral Homes, Red Hook on Friday, February 8th, 2019 from 2 to 4 pm.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at Christ Church, Red Hook, NY. Burial will be at St. John’s Reformed Church Cemetery, Red Hook. Memorial donations may be made in Audrey’s memory to Christ Church, 7423 S. Broadway, Red Hook, NY 12571, the Hudson Valley Hospice, 374 Violet Ave.
