Obituary of Virginia Ahlstedt Virginia Ahlstedt, 85, of Tivoli and formerly of Yonkers, NY, passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at the Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck, NY. Born on June 14, 1933, in New York, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Virginia (DeFratis) Govia. Virginia married Bernard Ahlstedt and he predeceased her in April 1996.

A homemaker throughout her life, her greatest joy came from raising and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Virginia is survived by her children, Mike Govia, Iesia (Diego) Velatigue, Catherine (Bill) Sakal, and Anne (Brian) Kenny; her loving grandchildren, Bronte Uccellini, Colin Kenny, Jeremy Kenny, Taylor Wellman, Tara Kenny, Sage Velastigue, Ian Carter, James Mahoney, Jr, Ryan Mahoney, and Kelli Mahoney; her great grandchildren, Natalie, Lauren, Emilia, and the soon to be born- James; along with extended family and friends. In addition to her husband, a son, James Patrick Mahoney, predeceased her.

Friends may call at the Burnett & White Funeral Homes on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 from 4 to 7:30 pm. Prayers will be offered during visitation. Graveside services and interment will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at St. Mary’s Cemetery (St. Anthony section), Yonkers, NY.

Arrangements are under the direction of Burnett & White Funeral Homes 7461 S. Broadway, Red Hook, NY.
