Obituary of Robert Recchia Robert R Recchia, 80, a longtime Red Hook resident, passed away on Monday, December 3, 2018 at the Greene Meadow Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Catskill, NY. Born on November 21, 1938, in Poughkeepsie, NY, he was the son of the late Louis B and Rosina (Caputo) Recchia. For many years, Robert owned and operated the Southern Dutchess Music Studio in Wappinger Falls, NY, where he hired instructors and taught music.

An accomplished accordionist, Robert’s talent and sheer love for the instrument was clearly evident. He also worked for Central Hudson and ran Dutchess Upholstery. An avid and expert marks man – from childhood, he was a member of the IBM Shooting Club and would compete in shooting competitions.

He is survived by a sister, Edith (Erwin) Kitzweger of TN; his brother in law, Emil Weber of Athens, NY; a niece, Kathleen Weber of Athens, NY; a nephew, Jeffrey (Katharine) Weber of Catskill, NY; along with his grandnephew and grandnieces, Darren Russell, Samantha Weber, and Emma Weber. His sister, Harriet Weber, and a nephew, Michael Scott Weber, predeceased him. Friends may call at the Burnett & White Funeral Homes on Thursday, December 6th, 2018 from 10 – 11 AM.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at St. Peters Cemetery, Poughkeepsie. Arrangements are under the direction of Burnett & White Funeral Homes 7461 S. Broadway, Red Hook, NY.
