Obituary of Henry Kappeller Henry Kappeller, Jr, 72, of Red Hook, NY, passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2018. Born on June 22, 1946, in Bad Reichenhall, Germany, he was the son of the late Henry and Elizabeth (Bachmann) Kappeller, Sr. Henry was a graduate of Hudson High School- Class of 1964 and earned his degree in Electronics from Dutchess Community College. Henry served in the United States Marine Corp from 1965-1968 attaining the rank of Corporal.

He served as a munition handler and ammo tech. Henry married Kathleen Young on November 22, 1969 and she survives at home in Red Hook. Henry worked for a number of years as a machinist with Boice’s Gage in Hyde Park and retired from New York State where he worked in general maintenance at Hudson River Psychiatric Center in Poughkeepsie, NY.

In addition to his loving wife 49 years, Kathie Kappeller, he is survived by his children and grandchildren, Christopher (Nicole) Kappeller and their children Ryan, Riley, and Bianca, all of Rhinebeck, NY, Jennifer (David Udoff) Kappeller and their child Julia of Dover, DE, Scott (Patty) Kappeller and their children Sarah and Vanessa, all of Kinderhook, NY; his sister, Elisabeth Charette of Clifton Park, NY; along with extended family and friends. A sister, Katarina “Katie” Kappeller, predeceased him. Memorial service and interment will be private.

Memorial donations may be made in Henry’s memory to the Dutchess County SPCA, 636 Violet Ave. , Hyde Park, NY 12538, to Columbia-Greene Humane Society, 125 Humane Society Road, Hudson, NY 12534, or animal shelter, rescue, or sanctuary of your choice. .
