Obituary for Sue E. Ray Sue E. Ray, 77, of Carthage, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 9, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born March 20, 1941 in Shirley, IN, a daughter of the late Glen A. and Leatha (Hedrick) Jordan. Sue worked most of her life at various jobs, with her last being the Indiana Soldiers and Sailors Home in Knightstown.

She was an extraordinary woman who loved unconditionally, caring for her family and friends, even strangers. She has been known to take in the homeless. Her heart was truly golden.

Sue was married to the love of her life, Marvin E. Ray on March 1, 1963, who preceded her in death on December 3, 2008. She was a member of the Faith Chapel Church in Knightstown, where she loved working in the church, the food pantry, or any other ministry she could. She leaves to cherish her memory a brother, Glen Jordan of Wilkinson; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; also her best friend, Ramona Webber of Knightstown as well as many more friends and neighbors.

In addition her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Patricia Ray, Robert, James, Max, Art, William, and Charlie Jordan, and Kathy Porter. Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 13, 2019 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Pastors Eric Boling and Tobby Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Carthage Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to Faith Chapel Independent Baptist Church, address. You may share a memory or condolence of Sue at www.
