Susanna C. “Susan” Gipe, 47, of Elizabethtown, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at her residence. Born in Catania, Italy, she was the daughter of Nunzia (Casella) Helmick and the late Joseph D. Helmick. Susan was the wife of Roger Gipe.

Susan was a kindhearted outgoing individual who was always checking in on her family and friends. She was an inspiration with her inner and outer beauty and strength to all who knew her. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Mount Joy, American Legion Post 329 in Elizabethtown and the Willowood Swim Club in Elizabethtown.

She enjoyed playing Bingo, yard sales, beach trips, her dogs and most of all spending time with her family. Surviving in addition to her husband, Roger and mother, Nunzia are two children, Marisa Willen and Thomas Gipe both of Elizabethtown; a stepdaughter, Lydia Gipe of Elizabethtown; a grandson, Jason Kaylor Jr.; a sister, Kathy Wise, wife of Jamie of Mount Joy; a brother, Joseph Helmick, companion of Tabatha Brown of Mount Joy; and three nieces, Samantha Harven of Mount Joy, Tiffany Helmick of Lancaster and Cheyenne Helmick of Mount Joy. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ciara Willen.

A funeral service honoring Susan’s life will be held at the Sheetz Funeral Home, Inc. 16 East Main Street, Mount Joy on Friday, May 31, 2019 at 12 noon. Family and friends will be received at the funeral home before the service from 11 AM to 12 noon. Interment will follow at Kraybill Mennonite Cemetery.
