The Rev. Norman C. Krapf, 88, of Palmer Township, passed away Friday, May 4, 2018 in Old Orchard Healthcare Center. Born May 11, 1929, in Valley Stream, NY, he was a son of the late William L. and Caroline (Pufahl) Krapf.

He and his wife, Gwen S. (Johnson) Krapf, celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary on June 14, 2017. Norman was a 1947 graduate of Central High School in Valley Stream. He received a B.A. from Wagner College in 1957 and graduated from Lutheran Theological Seminary of Philadelphia in 1960.

He served with the US Army during the Korean War. He retired as a Lutheran pastor in 1992 after 32 years, last serving St. Luke’s Old Williams Lutheran Church. He had been pastor of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, South Easton, from 1971-1986.

After retirement, he worked part-time as an interim pastor in several area churches and as a visitation pastor for St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Bethlehem. He was an avid reader and enjoyed baseball, especially the Mets and automobiles. He also enjoyed music and was a huge fan of the Big Band era.

Norman was a member of St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church. Surviving in addition to his wife, Gwen, are a daughter, Caroline H. Clifford and her husband Brian D., Jr., of Hellertown and two grandsons, Hayden and Curtis Clifford. He was predeceased by a sister, June Ericksen and three brothers, Robert, William and Russell Krapf.

A memorial service will be held at Noon Saturday, May 19th in St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, 3900 Freemansburg Avenue, Palmer Township. Call Saturday 11am-Noon in the church. Arrangements are by the Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson Borough.
