Kenneth E. Rickert, 91, formerly of Palmer Township, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2018 in ManorCare. Born January 31, 1927, in Riegelsville, PA, he was a son of the late Joseph and Edna (Shaddinger) Rickert. He and his wife, Virginia (Smith) Rickert, celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on November 23, 2017.

Ken retired from Palmer Township Public Works Department where he worked for over 10 years. Previously, he was employed by the former Sheridan Machine Company for 29 years. He served with the US Army during the Korean War.

Ken was a member of Black Diamond Railroad Society, Brown & Lynch American Legion Post 9 and Easton Lodge 152, F & AM. Surviving in addition to his wife Virginia are two daughters, Lisa A. Pysher, of Forks Township, and Beth A. Brdar and her husband Marc, of South Park, PA; and seven grandchildren, David, Katie and Adam Pysher, Ty, Clare, Cole and Kirk Brdar. He was predeceased by a brother, Roland Rickert and a sister, Marilyn Fragale.

Services will be held at 10:30am Saturday in the Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., 2101 Northampton Street, Wilson Borough. Call Saturday 9:30-10:30am in the funeral home. Burial will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine.
