Daniel P. “Zippy” Zito, 89, of Bethlehem Township, PA, Army veteran of WWII, passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2018 in Nazareth with his wife at his side. Born October 13, 1928, in Easton, PA, he was the son of the late Daniel and Madelyn “Lena” (Regina) Zito. He and his wife, Lavina M. ( Jarrell) Zito, celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on May 13, 2018.

Danny was a 1946 graduate of Easton High School where he continued to support his Red Rovers until his passing, but, his true obsession was the New York Yankees and the New York Giants. He retired from Dixie Cup Co. where he worked for 40 years. Danny was an avid golfer, a starter, and a legacy at Green Pond that included two holes in one on the 17th hole.

His grandchildren knew him for was his affinity for drawing cartoons of Popeye, the Seven Dwarfs, and caricatures of family on Hallmark cards. He was a member of Ebenezer Bible Fellowship Church and had served as a deacon at Grace Bible Fellowship Church. He also belonged to several social organizations.

Danny was predeceased by his first wife, Madeline (Burns) Zito with whom he had three children: Ralph Zito and his wife Debbie, of Bethlehem Township; Suzanne Moschini and her husband David, of Bath and Michael Zito and his wife Annette, of Bethlehem Township; four step-children; Denise Stephan, of Easton and her late husband, James; Diane Scheirer and her husband Jeff, of Ocean Pines, MD; Donna Kleintop and her husband Guy, of Burke, VA and Doris Lynch and her husband, Donald, of Easton; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was also survived by a brother-in-law, Kenneth Jarrell, of Phillipsburg, NJ, with whom he was very close. A memorial service will be held at 10am Saturday, July 28th in Ebenezer Bible Fellowship Church, 3100 Hecktown Road, Bethlehem Township.

Call Saturday July 28th from 9-10am in the church. Burial will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine. Arrangements are by the Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson Borough.
