William C. “Bill” Curnow III, 80, of Palmer Township, passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2018 in Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest. Born August 31, 1938 in Easton, PA, he was a son of the late William C. Curnow, Jr. and Orvetta Canfield Curnow. He and his wife, Beverly (Roberts) Curnow, celebrated their 37th wedding anniversary on June 13, 2018.

William was a 1956 graduate of Wilson High School and received his BS and MS in Music Education from West Chester University. He taught music at John Dickinson High School, Wilmington, DE for two years. He was an adjunct trumpet teacher at Lafayette College.

Bill returned to his high school alma mater and was a beloved music teacher and band director with the Wilson Area High School for 31 years. He enjoyed inspiring his students in their musical achievements and continued to stay in touch with many over the years offering his encouragement and support. A musician and trumpet player since his youth, he was a member of the Allentown Band for 23 years and a published composer.

He was a freelance photographer with the Easton Express, and an avid fisherman who loved to spend time in his boat with friends on the beautiful Pennsylvania lakes. William was also a skilled woodworker in his retirement taking joy and pride in making things for his family. Surviving in addition to his wife Beverly, are his children, Jeffrey Curnow and his wife Miyo, of Bala Cynwyd, PA, Suzanne Cliber and her husband Jef, of New Market, MD, and Lauren Madigan and her husband Robert, of Allentown; a brother, Robert Curnow, of Liberty Lake, WA; and five grandchildren, Kyla and Danielle Curnow, Alexa and Jeremy Franklin, and Grayson Madigan.

He was predeceased by a sister, Judith Curnow Henderson. Private services are under the direction of the Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., 2101 Northampton St., Wilson Borough. Offer online condolences at www.
