Betty M. Thomas, 92, formerly of Wilson Borough and Palmer Township, passed away Sunday, October 21, 2018 in Moravian Village of Bethlehem. Born January 19, 1926, in Wilson Borough, PA, she was a daughter of the late John and Marie (Griffith) Jones. Her husband of 68 years, John G. Thomas, Jr., died December 5, 2016.

She graduated from Wilson High School Class of 1943. Betty was last employed in the medical office of Dr. Kovar for 14 years. Previously, she worked as a secretary to the superintendent of Wilson Area School District.

She enjoyed music and hand writing notes. Betty had been a member of the former Memorial United Church of Christ where she sang in the choir. Surviving are three sons, John G. Thomas and his wife Terry, of Forks Township, Fred Thomas and his wife Terri, of Perkasie and David Thomas, of San Diego, CA; a daughter, Debra “Debbie” Worrich and her husband Terry, of Bethlehem; a brother, Elwyn Jones, of Dallas, TX and four grandchildren, Cara Meehan and her husband Andrew, of Warriors Mark, PA, Daniel Thomas, of Minneapolis, MN, Caitlin Heckman and her husband Stephen, of Allentown and Colin Worrich, of Doylestown, and a great-grandson, Benjamin Meehan.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Arvon Jones and two sisters, Verna Dearringer and Dorothy Jones. A Memorial Service will be held at Noon, Friday, November 2nd in the Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., 2101 Northampton Street, Wilson Borough. Call Friday November 2nd 11am-Noon in the funeral home.

Interment will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine. Offer online condolences at www. strunkfh.com.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wilson Area Partners in Education Foundation, 2040 Washington Blvd. , Easton, PA 18042-3890.
