Geraldine “Geri” Owens, 72, of Bethlehem, passed away Friday, July 13, 2018, at St. Luke’s University Hospital. Born October 23, 1945, in Brooklyn, NY, she was a daughter of the late Herbert Brown and Rosalie Leggett. Her husband of 36 years, Richard Owens, passed away July 2, 2004.

Geri graduated from Bushwick High School, Brooklyn, NY, and New York City Community College. She retired as Senior Administrative Specialist, Equal Opportunities Affairs from Pfizer Pharmaceuticals where she was employed for over 23 years. Geri enjoyed reading, spending time with her family, making crafts, knitting and traveling, especially to jazz festivals.

She was a member of Grace Deliverance Baptist Church where she was a servant of the Lord, took part in numerous church trips; and where she served as volunteer administrative assistant. Surviving are a son, Christopher Owens and his wife Monica, of Hamilton, NJ; a brother Izander Leggett, of Vass, NC; sisters, Betty Brown, of Hamden, CT, Arleatha Leggett, of Bennettsville, SC, Carolyn Harper of Bethlehem, PA, Marilyn Brown, of Easton, PA, Bernice Brown, of Fort Mill, SC, Roslyn Brown-Myrick, of Philadelphia, PA, Rose Brown, of New Castle, DE, and Helen Hudson, of Brooklyn, NY; a granddaughter, Analise; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Geri was predeceased by two sisters, Ethel Simmons and Patricia Dunham, a brother, Thomas Leggett, and two nieces, Taylor Rose Holloway Brown, and Marion Alice Brown-Gulston.

There will be a wake on Wednesday, July 18, 2018, from 5:00-7:00 PM at Strunk Funeral Home, Inc. located at 2101 Northampton Street, Easton, PA. Homegoing Services will be held Saturday, July 21, 2018, at Grace Deliverance Baptist Church, located at 74 East Broad Street, Bethlehem, PA. On Saturday, a viewing will take place from 10:00-11:00 AM and the funeral will begin at 11:00 AM.

Burial will be at Nisky Hill Cemetery. Offer online condolences at www. strunkfh.com.
