Obituary for Thomas D. Lehman Thomas D. Lehman, 75, of Evansville, passed away Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Deaconess Midtown. Tom was born on December 29, 1942 in Evansville to the late Marvin and Elvira (Bergwitz) Lehman. Tom, humble as he was, always said his obit should simply read: “He lived, he loved, he tried, he died”.

Tom was a firefighter for the City of Evansville for 33 years before his retirement in 2005. He was ordained a Deacon for the Diocese of Evansville on July 9, 2005 and faithfully served Sacred Heart Catholic Church and St. Boniface Parish. He was a member of Knights of St. John Commandery #335, Hilltop Grove and also served as a Board member of House of Bread and Peace.

Tom is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary Kae (Kunz) Lehman, four sons, Greg (Denise) Lehman and Steve (Jenny) Lehman, both of Evansville, Keith (Gretchen) Lehman of Vincennes, IN, and Bill Lehman of Urbana, IL and two daughters, Amy (James) Schroeder and Julie (Chris) File, both of Evansville Also surviving are one sister, Sylvia Grimwood of Evansville and two brothers, Robert and Dan (Dosey) Lehman, of Evansville and 16 grandchildren, Jacob, Kelly, Andrew, Casey, Jack, Zachary, Emma, Matthew, Isaac, Noah, Taylor, Lucas, William, Louis, Grace and Samuel. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, two infant children, Angela and Darrell and brothers, Paul and Bill Lehman. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rev.

Anthony Govind officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street and from 9:00 A.M. until service time Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

A memorial service conducted by St. Boniface Parish will be held at 4:00 P.M. Wednesday at Pierre Funeral Home. The family requests memorial contributions may be made to House of Bread and Peace, 250 E.
