Obituary for Paul E. Burnes Paul E. Burnes, 77, of Evansville, passed away Monday, June 25, 2018 at his home surrounded by family. Paul was born July 12, 1940 in Evansville to the late John and Olivia (Hertel) Burnes. He was a 1958 graduate of Mater Dei High School where he won the Kiwanis Award for basketball his senior year.

He worked as an engineer at Whirlpool for 38 years before retiring. Paul was a member of the Riverbend Association; an avid sports fan and golfer and member of the Fendrich Men’s Club. Above anything, Paul loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving Paul are his wife of 55 years, Sharon (Killian) Burnes; two daughters, Lisa (Martin) Cook of Corydon, IN and Sheri (Scott) Redelman of Elizabethtown, IN; two sisters, Mary Catherine (Elliott) Gardner of San Antonio, TX and Joyce (Jack) Lasher of Evansville; six grandchildren, Kyle, Olivia and Riley Cook and Parker, Brady and Landon Redelman; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by a sister, Millie Zelenko and by his brother, Norman Burnes. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held at 9:30 AM on Friday, June 29, 2018 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Rev.

Theodore Tempel officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 until 7:00 PM on Thursday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street and from 9:00 AM until service time on Friday at St. Anthony Catholic Church.
