Obituary for James A. Eickhoff James A. Eickhoff, 91, of Evansville, passed away Monday, June 25, 2018 at the Linda E. White Hospice House. Jim was born January 13, 1927 in Posey County, IN to the late Joseph and Cecilia (Folz) Eickhoff. Jim was a member of St. Wendel Catholic Church, the Knights of St. John at St. Wendel; a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II and member of VFW Post #6576 in Wadesville.
He worked for Whirlpool Corporation for 33 years before retiring in 1990. Surviving Jim are a daughter, Donna LeRoy and four sons, Terry (Sandy) Eickhoff, Stanley (Peggy) Eickhoff, William (Donna) Eickhoff and Tim (Lisa) Eickhoff, all of Evansville; grandchildren, Christina Pabst, Eric Eickhoff, Kimberly Beach, Bradley Eickhoff, Brittney Fisher, Brandon Eickhoff, Nicholas Eickhoff, Nathan Eickhoff, Noah Eickhoff, Nolan Eickhoff, Lily Eickhoff, Jennifer LeRoy and Billy LeRoy and fourteen great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Mary Ann (Paul) Eickhoff; by four brothers, Paul, Herman, Charles and Elmer Eickhoff; by two step sisters, Flora Wolf and Leona Sturm and two step brothers, Paul and Andrew Wildemann.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held at 10:30 AM on Friday, June 29, 2018 at St. Wendel Catholic Church, Rev. Ed Schnur officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Wendel Catholic Church cemetery, where the Vanderburgh County Retired Veterans Memorial Club will conduct military rites.
Friends may visit with the family from 3:00 until 8:00 PM on Thursday at Pierre Funeral Home, where there will be a memorial service conducted by the church at 4:00 PM. Friends may also visit with the family from 10:00 AM until service time on Friday at St. Wendel Church. The Eickhoff family would like to extend a special thank you to anyone who helped Jim or was kind to him over the last few weeks of his life.
