Obituary for Thomas Mort Bailey Thomas Bailey, age 82, of Granite Falls went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 15, 2018, at his home after a prolonged illness. He was born February 22, 1936, son of the late Mort and Margaret Lassiter Bailey. Thomas worked in the insurance industry until he retired.

After retirement, he was the owner/operator of the Antique Market of Lenoir. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Jean Mobley; nephew, Rev. Brad Mobley.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 60 years, Scottie Bowman Bailey of the home; two sons, Thomas Scott Bailey (Ingra Hart) of Granite Falls and Benjamin Lee Bailey (Kristin) of Cary; one daughter, Margaret Rebecca Watts (Bryan) of Taylorsville; grandchildren, Thomas Alexander Bailey (Lori) of Statesville, Mason Abigail Bailey of Cary; Aspen and Jack Turney of Cary; great-granddaughters, Jane and Margaret Bailey of Statesville. The family will receive friends Sunday, November 18, 2018, from 2:00 to 3:00 PM at Mackie Funeral Home. The service will follow in the chapel at 3:00 PM with Rev.

Bob Evans officiating. Burial will be at Dudley Shoals Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Caldwell County Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645 or Samaritan’s Purse, PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.
