Obituary for Sandra Kirby (Barlow) Sandra Barlow Kirby, age 70, of Granite Falls, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, Hudson. She was born February 18, 1948, in Iredell County to the late Clate Barlow and Caroline Wilkinson Barlow. Mrs. Kirby was an X-Ray Tech and was retired from Carolina Medical Center Valdese.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Kirby is preceded in death by her daughter, Elizabeth Taylor. Those left to cherish her memory is her husband James Kirby of the home, two daughters, Jennifer Cary (Scott) of Claremont and Shannon Kirby of Hickory. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Kelsey Quinn, Abby Quinn, Jena Ivey, Madison Ivey and James Taylor and a great-grandson, Coltyn Quinn.
Her sister, Eva Honeycutt of Asheville also survives as well as two step-grandchildren, Tyler Stamey and Ryan Stamey. The family will receive friends Friday, November 16, 2018, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Philadelphia Lutheran Church in Granite Falls. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM.
Officiating will be Pastor Dan Duke. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be sent to Caldwell County Hospice, 902 Kirkwood Street, NW Lenoir, NC 28645.
