Obituary for Ann Hardee (Poovey) Ann Hardee, age 86, of Granite Falls, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, October 15, 2018, at her home. She was born May 9, 1932, daughter of the late Charles Cleveland and Violet LouAlice Payne Poovey. Ann worked as a Teacher Assistant at Granite Falls Elementary School for 15 years.
She was the organist for Philadelphia Lutheran Church before moving to First United Methodist Church, Granite Falls where she was the assistant organist. She was also the best cook in the world. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Edison “Ed” Hardee; four brothers, Charles, Walter, Earl and Harry Poovey.
Those left to cherish her memory are two sons, Dan Hardee and Tim Hardee (Karen) of Granite Falls; one daughter, Debbie Scarberry (Eddie Lail) of Hickory; seven grandchildren, Alicia Price, Erin Ogburn, Amanda Gilliland, Kristen Hardee, John Hardee, Brad Hardee, Angela Scarberry; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Edythe Harrold of Albany, GA. The family will receive friends Saturday, October 20, 2018, from 3:00 to 4:30 PM at First United Methodist Church, Granite Falls. The funeral service will follow at 4:30 PM with Rev.
Howard Fleming officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Munday, Tim Munday, Bryce Nelson, Phillip Krimminger, Keith Stallings, and Mike Cook.
