EDGERTON—Thomas S. Shaw, age 67, of Edgerton, died Saturday, June 9, 2018, at the Edgerton Care Center. He was born in Rockford, IL, on July 2, 1950, the son of Junior Bernard Shaw and Dorothy A. (Paladino) Shaw. Tom enlisted in the US Navy and proudly served overseas aboard the USS Kitty Hawk during the Vietnam War.

He drove semi for many years, and later served as manager of the Bargain Barn in Edgerton. Tom enjoyed camping and campfires, but most of all, riding his motorcycles. He… Read More » is survived by his 3 children: Melanie (Kevin) Shaw of St. Charles, IL, Jennifer (Kory Garczynski) Shaw of Janesville, and Joshua Shaw of Edgerton; 5 grandchildren: Alexis (Brandon), Devon, Chloe, Evan, and Caleb; a great granddaughter, Makenna; 2 brothers, Rodney (Jane) Shaw of Rockford, and Mark (Cynthia) Shaw of White House, TN; 2 sisters, Linda (Allan) Amundson and Nancy Schulz both of Janesville; his significant other, Patti Young and her family; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents. A Celebration of Tom’s Life will take place from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at the VFW Post 1621, Janesville and Full military honors will be accorded at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. The APFEL EHLERT FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE is assisting the family.
