Potts, age 92, passed away on March 27, 2019 in Childress, Tx. Services will be held at 2:00pm, Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at the First Baptist Church in Turkey, Tx. Burial will follow the service in the Memphis Cemetery in Memphis, Tx.

Tommy was born on November 22, 1926 to Tim and JoAnna (Williamson) Potts in Estelline, Tx. On January 21, 1945 Tommy married his wonderful wife Billie “Bea” Travis. They lived 73 years in love, laughter, and raising a family.

Shortly after they wed the couple moved to Amarillo, Texas. Tommy worked for Star Lumber in Amarillo until he was drafted to Korea in 1952 where he stayed until 1954. He then came back to Star Lumber and worked there from 1955-1968.

From 1969-1972 Tommy was the manager at W.C. Roberts. In 1972 he moved back to the family farm where he remained until his passing. Tommy enjoyed riding on this tractor, plowing the fields.

He also loved to watch the cows. He was a hard worker and loved his family dearly. Tommy was a member of FBC Turkey since 2002, and a member of FBC Estelline prior to that.

Tommy loved to sing and build things. Memorials may be made to Childress Regional Medical Center Hospice, FBC Turkey, or to the charity of your choice. Tommy is preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and JoAnna Potts; and two sisters, Louise May and Billye Lester.

Survivors include his wife, Billie Potts of Parnell, TX; son, Noel Potts and wife Lisa of Turkey, TX; granddaughter, Holly Potts of Snyder, TX; grandson, Tommy Potts and wife Amy of Lubbock, TX; great granddaughters, Addison and Sadie Potts, Haidyn and Chandler Hefflinger; brother, Hershel Potts and wife Fran of Fort Sumner, NM; and numerous nieces and nephews.
